Getting started
How do I create an account?
Click Get started in the top right corner and sign up with your email address or with Google. Once you're in, you'll land on your dashboard where you can create your first trading account and start journaling.
What is a trading account in Norviq?
A trading account represents one real account you trade on — for example a broker account, a prop firm challenge or a personal live account. Every trade you log or sync is attached to a trading account, so your statistics stay separated and accurate. Create as many as you need from the Accounts page.
Do I need to connect a broker to use Norviq?
No. You can use Norviq as a fully manual journal — log trades by hand, import from your platform, and get the full analytics experience. Broker connections simply automate the import and unlock verification and leaderboard eligibility.
Is Norviq free?
Yes — the core journal, analytics, community and growth tools are free. Pro and Elite plans add advanced analytics, unlimited broker connections and more. See Pricing for the full comparison.
Connecting a broker account
Which platforms are supported?
Norviq currently connects to MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 accounts. We use a secure, read-only connection — we can read your trade history, but we can never place, modify or close trades on your behalf.
How do I connect my MT4/MT5 account?
Go to Accounts → Connect account, select your broker from the list, enter your MT4/MT5 login, server name and password, and confirm. We'll validate the connection, pull your trade history and keep it in sync from then on.
Is it safe to enter my broker credentials?
Yes. Your credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, and the connection is strictly read-only. We recommend using a MetaTrader investor (read-only) password if your broker provides one.
How often does my account sync?
You choose the auto-sync interval per account: every 12 hours, daily (default), every 3 days, or weekly. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time — manual syncs have a 30-minute cooldown so shared infrastructure stays fair for everyone.
What is my starting balance based on?
When a broker account connects, Norviq captures the account's live balance at the very first sync and uses it as the leaderboard baseline — the starting point for verified, public rankings. This snapshot is taken exactly once and never changes, so leaderboard profit and ROI reflect only the trading performance that happened from that moment forward.
Your full personal history is still visible in your private journal and analytics. The baseline only affects the verified leaderboard view, where deposits and withdrawals are also tracked separately as cash flows so the curve shows pure trading results, not money moved in or out.
Manual journals and importing trades
How do I add a trade manually?
Go to Trades → New trade. You can enter a single position or build a trade from multiple executions — for example an entry, then separate partial exits for TP1 and TP2. Set the lot size and the contract/lot size multiplier, and Norviq calculates the resulting P/L for you.
Can I import trades from a file?
Yes — use Trades → Import to bulk-import your history. This is the fastest way to backfill a manual journal. Imported trades belong to a manual account and are included in all of your personal analytics.
Can I move trades between accounts?
Trades on manual accounts can be moved to another account from the trade menu. Trades on broker-connected (verified) accounts are locked to their original account to keep leaderboard data trustworthy.
Can I delete a trade or a whole account?
Individual manual trades can be edited or deleted from the trade detail page. Entire accounts — including connected broker accounts — can be permanently deleted from the account page. Deletion removes the account and all of its trades.
Verification and leaderboard eligibility
What does a verified account mean?
A verified account is one connected directly to your broker. Because the data comes straight from the source and can't be edited, verified results are provably real — that's why only verified accounts can appear on the public leaderboards.
Why isn't my account on the leaderboard?
Check three things: the account must be broker-connected (verified), leaderboard visibility must be enabled on the account, and you need enough closed trades in the selected period for a meaningful ranking. Manual journals never appear on public leaderboards — their analytics are for your eyes only.
What is the Norviq Score?
The Norviq Score is a composite 0–1000 rating built from ten components — including consistency, risk, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, drawdown, discipline and recent form. It's calculated from your verified trading history and is shown both on your dashboard and on the leaderboard, so the number always matches.
What is the difference between 'Entire account' and 'Since verification'?
On your dashboard and analytics you can switch the performance scope. Entire account shows your full history. Since verification shows only the period Norviq can prove — the same data the leaderboard uses — so you always know exactly what your public ranking is based on.
Subscriptions and billing
What plans does Norviq offer?
Norviq has a free tier plus two paid plans: Pro ($24/month) and Elite ($54/month). Prices include VAT where applicable. Paid plans unlock advanced analytics, more broker connections and premium community features.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings → Billing. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time — cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full access until then.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards. Your card details never touch Norviq's servers.
Where can I find my invoices?
All invoices are available from Settings → Billing. Invoices are issued with VAT included where applicable.
Troubleshooting sync issues
My broker connection failed validation — what now?
The most common causes are a wrong server name (brokers run many servers — pick the exact one from your platform's login screen), a mistyped password, or a broker IP restriction. Re-check the details and try again; if it keeps failing, use the diagnostics view on the connection for the exact error and contact support with it.
New trades aren't showing up.
First, check when the account last synced — it may simply be waiting for its next auto-sync interval. Trigger a manual sync (remember the 30-minute cooldown). If trades still don't appear, make sure they're actually closed on the platform — some views only count closed trades.
My statistics show zeros or look wrong.
Analytics are calculated from closed trades in the selected period and account scope. If you recently imported or synced, give the page a refresh. If a specific number still looks off, send us a screenshot through the contact page and we'll dig in.
Something else is broken.
We're a small team and we read everything. Report bugs through the contact page or on our Discord — include the page you're on and what you expected to happen.
